Interlaken, Switzerland

We arrived in Switzerland by train and checked into our hotel in Unterseen (right next to Interlaken) in the rain.

The view from our room:

As it was late in the day, we decided we'd take a walk down to the nearest lake before dinner.

The next morning it was still rainy so we took the train to Lauterbrunen where we caught a bus up to the Trummelbach Falls which is a series of 10 glacier-fed waterfalls nestled in the mountains.

A waterfall in Lauterbrunnen.

The falls were breath-takingly amazing.

Since the pictures don't do the falls justice, I took some video.

At the giftshop we saw this super-cool postcard. I foolishly thought I'd have a chance in town to buy postcards later but we never saw any more Trummelbach Falls cards.

We hiked out to a ropes-course but upon arrival discovered that it was closed.

We then turned around and hiked down to the business office in town where we learned that the kids who worked the ropes course had just decided to go home early that day. Grrrr. So we decided to make the best of it at a playground, a sort of mini-ropes course.

Just before we left town the next day, the sun finally decided to come out.

Finally, some flowers:
